Our reason for existence is to provide an opportunity for anyone to write new, original bed time stories for children. Our goal is to make life easier and more pleasurable for the entire family by providing alternative stories with positive messages and needed lessons that often get missed by today's media and professional publishers. Combined with the fact that our books are being read to kids by the most important person in their life (you!) we hope to thereby lessen the effects of the constant bombardment of our children with sales approaches rather than life lessons that make life better for kids and parents alike.

At ByParentsForKids.org we think that by instilling these lessons in kids and giving all parents (and others who care about kids) a voice about what our kids are learning, we will all benefit as a society in years to come.

We think that parents are better judges of what should be in kids' books than people whose prime motivation is profit, not the well-being of children.

We provide anyone who has a manuscript a forum to reach children with their message.

We provide graphic artists a vehicle to display their talent and do some good in the world while at the same time providing due credit and a link back to the site of those artists whose contribution is so generously donated. If you are a graphic artist and would like to submit your website address to us via e-mail, we can add you to our database of artists and, if a particularly good new book comes along, we will contact you to see if it inspires you.

We think that if a parent spends that precious few minutes delivering a strong, positive message, that they are heard above the din of video games simply because the message is coming from you.

By linking up amateur kids writers and professional graphic artists, we hope to create a "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" which will benefit children everywhere (and hopefully make parent's lives easier at the same time).

We invite you to submit your own original work. If you can write a kid's book with a positive message, please send it along. If it meets our guidelines, we'll post it on our up & coming "books that need an artist" page to see if there's an artist out there who is inspired to volunteer their time to help bring it to life. If one of them likes it and wants to illustrate it, you're in! Your book will be available on this site for free download by other parents.

For particularly good manuscripts, we will attempt to actively use our contacts with graphic artists to match up a new book with a graphic artist already in our database.

Finally, we will diligently and securely guard the privacy of anyone who contributes in any way to our site unless they say otherwise.
